Certified Nurse Assistant

This Program is to prepare you for the California Nursing Assistant Competency Examination in order to work in a various healthcare settings. 

​

A CNA assists patients with personal care tasks as well as obtaining vital signs and observation and reporting under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. 

​

Our course provides training  to meet the California Department of Public Health curriculum requirements. You will graduate with a strong understanding of these skills, the professional attitude needed to excel, and the knowledge to pass the State Exam!

Online/In person Nursing Assistant Program 

60 hours of Theory is provided via live lectures on Zoom, discussions, case studies and videos. Students will go through 17 modules and must pass each test with a score of 80%. Students must pass the Final Theory exam with a score of 80% or higher. Upon completion of Theory, students will start the clinical portion of the course. 

108 hours of Clinical and skills will be held at the Clinical Facility located in Sacramento. Students must successfully show competence in the required skills through return demonstration. 

Upon successful completion of the course, Students will be able to apply to take the State Certification Exam

Technological Requirements

 

Zoom video conferencing and Google Classroom are used for Online Theory.

 

 System Requirements to use Google classroom

The hardware should have all the following features to operate the web.

  • Processor 1 GHz 32 bit or 64 bit

  • RAM 2 GB

  • The hard disk 16 GB available hard disk space for course application and files

  • Web camera Required

  • Speakers Required

  • Network connectivity Strong wifi signals

  • Monitor 1024× 768 screen resolution

  • Gmail email account.

**Per Google Community - Any computer built in the last 10 years will be able to access Google Classroom. You will also be able to access it with a Smart Phone, although computer use is recommended. 

​

Students will be provided with a link to join Google Classroom. You will need a Gmail email account to register. It is recommended to create a Strong password with at least 8 letters , a symbol and a number. 

​

System requirements for Zoom 

  • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)

  • Speakers and a microphone – built-in, USB plug-in, or wireless Bluetooth

  • A webcam or HD webcam - built-in, USB plug-in, or:

Admission requirements​

1. At least 16 years old

 2. High School diploma or GED (preferred)

3. Able to pass school's entrance exam

4. Valid Government Photo ID (Driver's License, State ID, Passport, Alien Card)

5. Social Security Card

6. Criminal screening/ LiveScan Fingerprint

7. Physical Examination

8. Recent negative TB Test (within 3 months of date of clinicals start date)

9. COVID 19 Vaccination Record

10. Immunization/Vaccination records (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, etc.)
